I am a product of my environment. Born in Chester, PA, raised briefly in Clinton, Maryland but mostly in Yeadon, PA I was raised in a household of women. Over my lifetime, my main influences have been family members: my grandparents and my mother primarily. My ideological views are based deeply in the Christian faith as I was raised “in the church.” I admit I lean left, but am able to see all sides of issues and am not always predictable. I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA in May 2007 where I was very active in student life and had numerous leadership opportunities. Currently, I work for the Philadelphia Treatment Court as a Case Manager. This court program is a a successful effort to truly rehabilitate drug offenders while removing the stigma of a criminal conviction from their record. I plan to apply to law school with aspirations of enrolling in Fall 2009 and then pursue a career in public policy and politics.
When we started this blog, I sent an email to family and friends asking them to read and comment on the blog. A concerned fraternity brother said this to me via emai:
How private is it? The biggest thing these days are employers
searching online for information.
This was my response.
That’s definitely a consideration, and simultaneously a motivation. We both know, good brother, that information is more accessible now than ever. What we put out there will be available to our grandchildren, and generations beyond. Our audience will include those that come after us, and we are prepared for that. Beyond that, issues of privacy are at the forefront of the legal landscape, and will be for some time. So the question is, how is free speech balanced with privacy rights? In any case, participate in the discussions.
The first part of my response sums up what Raysean and I are doing here. We ask that you continue to participate and add to the flow of knowledge.
