Seth: Today, R. Kelly was found “Not Guilty” on all 14 charges he faced. This comes six long years after the charges were filed. One juror commented that even after viewing the sex tape, they felt Kelly was on the tape, but weren’t sure if it was the alleged “victim.” Therefore, reasonable doubt was present and Kelly is now a free man.
Cook County State’s Attorney Dick Devine said “Child pornography cases can be extremely difficult in many ways. And one of those ways is that at times and in certain circumstances the victims may not consider themselves victims. Even if they fail to come forward or state what we believe happened … [charges] have to be brought.”
The only thing that would make me happier than this trial being over is his music career ending as well. This blog will now return to our regularly scheduled content.
